How to Use PinCheck

PinCheck is a utility app for Pinterest Users that checks to see if any of your pins’ links are broken.

After downloading the app, simply log-in through Pinterest. You will then see a list of your boards. At this time Pinterest does not let us access your private boards, so only your public boards will be shown:

Tap the board that you’d like to check, and PinCheck will begin checking your pins’ links on that board for broken links. The app is actually, one by one, trying out each pin’s link to see if it works. This is an “expensive” process, so if your board has a lot of pins you either will need a good wifi or strong cellular connection for optimal performance.

If you see any links that are broken, tapping the pin will open the pin in the Pinterest app (if installed), otherwise it will open in a web browser on Pinterest.com.

Below the pin you will see a “Delete Pin” button which will delete the pin. Note that you can only delete (or fix, see below) a pin that you originally pinned. I.e. if you follow a board that contains pins that someone else pined, you can’t delete/fix those.

If you have purchased PinFix, you can tap on the “Fix it! 🔧” button which will search the web for a (working) website similar to your pin’s original website. You will be presented with a list of the top matches, which you can then tap on to see the entire webpage to make sure it’s what you want.

You will be presented with a list of the top matches, which you can then tap on to see the entire webpage to make sure it’s what you want. If it looks good, just tap the PinIt button on the top right and your old pin will be deleted, and a new pin will be added to that board with the good link.
